Are pets allowed?

Yes. Pets are allowed as long as the owner is capable of properly meeting the community’s pet ownership guidelines.

How do I become a resident?

Call us today at 443-471-0513. Our retirement counselor will get to know you and your retirement ideals, review the apartment homes available, explain the finance options and answer any questions you may still have. Working together, we create a plan to make your move a smooth, stress-free experience.

Does The Village at Augsburg have a smoking policy?

Yes. For the health of all our residents, staff and visitors, The Village at Augsburg is designated as tobacco free. This includes all apartment homes, community buildings and indoor common areas.

Are my guests welcome to join me in community activities?

Yes, this is your home. You are welcome to have family and other guests visit or attend special activities or events at The Village at Augsburg. Guest accommodations are available and can be reserved on a first come basis for a nominal fee.You may invite guests to join you in either of the dining rooms, if you wish to cover the cost of their meals. And, you can use the private dining room to host special occasions, such as birthdays or family dinners.

Is there a Chaplaincy Program?

Yes, a full-time Chaplain is on site for those residents interested in spiritual guidance and wellbeing. Bible study classes are held regularly and services are offered weekly in the Augsburg Worship and Community Life Center. In addition, scheduled transportation is available to churches and synagogues throughout the area.

Is there a Residents Association?

Yes, and all residents are voting members. The Village at Augsburg Residents’ Association is an active, integral part of the community, interacting with management on many facets of campus life.

Do I need personal health insurance?

Yes. Residents are required to maintain Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medicare supplemental insurance or its equivalent.

Is the monthly service package fee subject to change?

Monthly service package fees are reviewed annually by the board of trustees and management and may be adjusted based on actual operating costs. Costs are carefully managed, and fees reflect the lowest feasible rate to maintain sound financial practices and the high quality of our services. A 60-day written notice is provided to all residents in advance of any fee increase.

How are service package fees determined?

Monthly service package fees are based on the size and location of the apartment home, and the number of occupants. Our retirement counselor will provide a complete list of pricing and full selection of floor plans to help you determine which apartment home best fits your finances and lifestyle.

What happens to my entrance deposit if I leave The Village at Augsburg?

If you leave during the six-month period following initial occupancy, 100% of the entrance deposit is returned to you. Following the initial six-month occupancy period, either 80% or 50% of the entrance deposit (depending on the plan you choose) is returned when the unit is vacated and reassigned in accordance with the terms of the “Residence Agreement.”

Do I have to pay an entrance deposit to move in?

Yes, the entrance deposit entitles you to become a resident of The Village at Augsburg with the right to use and enjoy your own apartment and all of the shared amenities. Entrance deposits vary depending on the size of the apartment and which finance plan you choose. The Village at Augsburg offers two plans: one is 80% refundable and the other is 50% refundable.

May I personalize my home to suit my preferences?

Yes. Residents take pride in furnishing and decorating their apartment homes to reflect their tastes. With approval from management and for an additional cost, you can paint and make other select changes to customize your home.

What types of residences are available?

The Village at Augsburg offers a variety of floor plans and sizes, including: studio with sleeping alcove, one bedroom and bath, one bedroom and bath with a den, and two bedrooms with two bathrooms.

Who can be a resident of The Village at Augsburg?

The Village at Augsburg is open to all individuals at least 62 years of age who meet the financial and medical criteria of the application process. The Village at Augsburg does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, gender, religious affiliation or handicap.

What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community?

A Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offers you financial security, flexibility and peace of mind. This type of community enables you to live in a private residence with the assurance that exceptional healthcare is available through every stage of life. At The Village at Augsburg, residents have priority access to assisted living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing care if ever needed. Residents also benefit from a healthy focus on wellness and have access to on-site fitness programs, preventive care and 24-hour emergency response.

Who owns and manages The Village at Augsburg?

The Village at Augsburg is owned and operated by National Lutheran Communities & Services (NLCS), a faith-based, not-for-profit ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, serving people of all beliefs. The Village at Augsburg is also affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).
