Learn New Things

Discover how they can benefit you

Step out of your comfort zone

Helpful resource: Access below!

Thinking of learning something new or taking on a new hobby? Don’t be afraid: the benefits of stepping out of your comfort zone are numerous! Learning something new becomes more important the older you get, and taking the time to learn a new skill can help strengthen your mind, improve your emotional wellness and keep you social. Here are a few ideas for new things to try this summer:

  • Sign up for an art class and learn a new medium, like sculpture, watercolors or printmaking.
  • Join a fitness class to stay moving and social. Try something low-impact like Tai Chi or something more challenging like Pilates.
  • Search for museums or historical sites near you and visit one you’ve never been to before.
  • Ask a talented friend to teach you their craft or skill! They’d probably love the company.
