Volunteer: An uplifting experience
Volunteering your time at The Village at Augsburg can be not only very fulfilling, but also fun. We find that our volunteers enjoy the experience just as much as our residents.
Opportunities for individuals, families and groups
We know your calendar is busy, and we appreciate whatever hours you can share with us. By remaining flexible and offering a wide variety of ways you can help, we make it easy to fit volunteer time into your schedule. Some examples include:
- Beauty shop volunteer
- Book cart volunteer
- Clerical assistant
- Clothing shop assistant
- Escort (assistance to dining room, activities, etc.)
- Friendly visitor (play cards, chat, spend time with residents)

Families often enjoy volunteering together. Teens (age 13 to 18) are encouraged to earn community service hours here. Groups are also welcome. Bring a group to sing, have your congregation participate in an afternoon worship service, or create a group project. We are open to your ideas.

Join our Auxiliary
Our Auxiliary is another great way to get involved. Augsburg’s Auxiliary is the rock upon which this community was built. From the very beginning its members provided the impetus that created Augsburg and the love and financial support that kept it going. The Auxiliary is still our most supportive group. Members work untiringly to see that the needs of residents are fulfilled, whether large or small. They do this through various fundraisers held throughout the year.
The Augsburg Auxiliary is composed of friendly, energetic women and men who are always happy to welcome new members. Join this dedicated group and enjoy sharing your skills, forming new friendships and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
